Cognassist

How it works

What actually flows

The connectors are two-way, so the assessment and its results move with the learner rather than living in a separate tool.

  1. Create and invite the learner in the system you already use, and they are set up for the Cognassist assessment.

  2. The learner completes the cognitive assessment in Cognassist, with no specialist needed to run it.

  3. The cognitive profile and results flow back to your learner record, so support starts from what the assessment found.

  4. Every support record stays linked back to the need the assessment identified. That golden thread, from assessed need to adjustment to record to evidence, is what keeps the trail audit-grade.

The exact data that flows depends on your systems, so we map it to your setup on a technical call rather than over-promise it here.

Public API

No packaged connector? Connect through the API

If your system is not listed, you do not need to wait for a connector. The same Public API powers a standard, self-serve, two-way integration: create and manage learners, send the assessment, and retrieve results and support evidence. Single sign-on and secure file transfer are available as configuration options.

Common questions

Which systems does Cognassist integrate with?

Cognassist has live, two-way connectors with Bud, OneFile, the OneAdvanced ePortfolio (Smart Assessor) and Aptem. Any other MIS or e-portfolio can connect through the Cognassist Public API.

What data flows between Cognassist and our system?

In most setups you create and invite the learner in your system, they complete the assessment in Cognassist, and their cognitive profile and results flow back to your learner record. The exact fields depend on your systems, so we confirm them on a technical call.

Do we have to run Cognassist as a separate system?

No. The point of the integrations is to keep inclusion in the flow of work. For some providers Cognassist replaces a manual, spreadsheet-based process; for others it sits alongside the systems they already run. Either way, tutors work in the tools they already know.

What if our system is not on the list?

You can connect through the Cognassist Public API, which powers a standard, self-serve, two-way integration. Single sign-on and secure file transfer are available as configuration options.

Where is our data hosted, and is it secure?

Learner and platform data is hosted in the UK, and your API access only ever returns your own organisation's learners. Full security and data credentials are on the trust and security centre.
