The graduated approach · Leadership
See inclusion across your whole provider, and build the capability to act on it
The leadership stage of the graduated approach closes the golden thread: one real-time, whole-provider view of inclusion, and the capability in every tutor to act on it.
- One view
- whole-provider inclusion, aggregated from the golden thread, not rebuilt from spreadsheets before an audit
- Every tutor
- on-demand training that builds confident inclusion capability in the flow of work
- Outcomes over activity
- judge inclusion by whether outcomes improve, and act on gaps before they become findings

How Cognassist helps leaders see inclusion and act on it
A short overview of the leadership stage: how the golden thread every stage builds rolls up into one whole-provider view of inclusion, and the capability to act on what it shows.

A real-time, whole-provider view of inclusion, and its impact
Inclusion insights gives leaders one live view of inclusion across the whole provider, aggregated automatically from the golden thread every stage builds. Read one view instead of reconstructing the picture from spreadsheets before an audit, then read the data, evaluate strategy against outcomes and act on gaps before they become findings. The oversight itself is evidence of active, data-led leadership.
- What it shows: the proactive-pathway funnel, the percentage of learners moved off proactive support, tutor and learner adoption, and evidence quality by month.
- Leadership oversight, admin and leader-facing, drillable to the individual tutor and learner. It is not a tutor-facing dashboard.
- It aggregates the inclusion golden thread your management information system (MIS) or e-portfolio does not hold, and does not export to them. No department or site breakdown, and it does not track the achievement gap.
Build inclusion capability in every tutor, in the flow of work
Leaders drive action by building confident inclusion capability across every tutor. Training & CPD is on-demand, role-based continuing professional development (CPD) built into the platform staff already use, so good, evidenced support stops depending on the few specialists you cannot hire enough of.
- In the flow of work: on-demand courses and in-context guidance inside the platform staff already use, not a separate system or a once-a-year event.
- Specialists amplified, not replaced: the platform lowers the specialism bar so a confident non-specialist can deliver good support, and reserves specialists for complexity. How support is allocated stays your decision.
- Evidence how you develop staff: a completion view shows who has finished their recommended training. It is a record of what leadership has put in place, not a measure of whether capability improved.
Where the leadership stage sits in the graduated approach
Leadership is the layer across the whole graduated approach, not a fifth step inside it. What the assessment surfaced, the plan agreed, and do and review delivered and evidenced rolls up so leaders see and steer inclusion at provider scale. You are looking at Lead: oversight of the cycle, closing the golden thread the other stages build.
Step 01 of 05
Assess
Every learner completes the cognitive assessment at onboarding, surfacing strengths and areas that may need support across the whole cohort. A signal for judgement, not a diagnosis.
- A cognitive diversity report on every learner
Step 02 of 05
Plan
Suggested adjustments become a personalised support plan, co-created with the learner.
- Built from the assessed need, agreed together
Step 03 of 05
Do
Tutors deliver the agreed adjustments in everyday teaching and record support as they go.
- Support becomes audit-grade evidence as a by-product
Step 04 of 05
Review
Support is reviewed on a regular rhythm and re-walked with the learner: keep it, update it, or step the learner off with evidence.
- Stepping a learner off, with evidence, is success
Step 05 of 05
Lead
Leaders see the whole cycle roll up into one real-time view and steer inclusion across the provider. Admin and leader-facing.
- The aggregate view of the same golden thread

Customer story · Educationwise Academy
Inclusion led from the data, across the whole provider
Preparing for its first full Ofsted inspection, Educationwise Academy built Cognassist data into weekly reporting and its quality-assurance framework, so leaders could see inclusion across the provider and act on it, not just record it. In 2022, twelve months on, the provider was judged Grade 1 Outstanding, its own achievement, with Cognassist strengthening learner support as part of that work.

- 12 monthsOfsted turnaround
