Cognassist

Inclusion at Scale

Learner support at scale, without hiring more specialists

Good support shouldn't depend on a few specialists or a bolt-on spreadsheet. Cognassist makes it consistent for every learner, in the workflow you already run.

Every learner
identified from day one
Every tutor
the same consistent, evidenced support
One workflow
not a parallel system

Why the usual fixes stall

You don't scale support by cloning specialists or bolting on a spreadsheet

Good support scales when the platform carries the admin and lowers the specialism bar, so the same graduated approach reaches every tutor and department. It scales with your learner numbers, not your specialist headcount. The two usual fixes don't get you there:

  • Hiring more specialists: you can't hire enough, and cost climbs with every head.
  • Bolting on a spreadsheet or side process: it fragments data and never gets adopted, because it sits outside the flow of work.

The mechanism

The platform does the heavy lifting, so any tutor can deliver

This is how Cognassist delivers learner support at scale: one graduated approach, applied the same way across every tutor and department. At each step the platform carries the admin, so confident non-specialists deliver consistently and your Additional Learning Support (ALS) and specialist team is amplified, reserved for the most complex needs. How you allocate support stays your decision.

Step 01 of 04

Assess

A whole-cohort cognitive assessment identifies every learner's needs and signals where support may help, from day one.

  • Every learner assessed, not only those who disclose
  • A signal for your professional judgement, never a diagnosis or a label

The assessment does not establish disability under the Equality Act 2010.

One connected place

Support lives where your staff already work, not in a parallel system

With Cognassist, the assessment, the plan, the reasonable adjustments and the monthly records are one connected thread inside everyday teaching, not a side spreadsheet that never gets adopted. It is built to fit the systems you already run, so support sits in your workflow, not beside it.

  • More than a records store: a passive store logs notes after the fact. Cognassist proposes the matched reasonable adjustment with its Intent, coaches record quality as it is written, and keeps the golden thread back to the assessed need.
  • Built to fit the systems you already run. Native two-way connectors exist for Bud, OneFile, Aptem and the OneAdvanced ePortfolio (Smart Assessor); any other management information system (MIS) or e-portfolio connects through the Cognassist Public API (application programming interface).
  • The exact data flows for your systems are confirmed on a technical call: an honest answer, not an over-promise.

FAQ

Honest answers to the questions leads actually ask

  • How do we support every learner who needs it without hiring more specialists?
The platform carries the admin and lowers the specialism bar, so confident non-specialists deliver good, evidenced support. Cognassist Training builds that capability in the flow of work, and your ALS and specialist team is amplified, reserved for the most complex needs. Support scales with your learner numbers, not your specialist headcount.
  • We already store support notes in our MIS or e-portfolio. Do we have to run Cognassist as a separate system, and what does it add?
No separate system. Support lives in one connected place inside your everyday workflow, not a side spreadsheet. Native two-way connectors exist for Bud, OneFile, Aptem and the OneAdvanced ePortfolio (Smart Assessor); any other MIS or e-portfolio, including OneAdvanced MIS products such as ProSolution, ProMonitor and PICS, connects through the Cognassist Public API. Over a records store, which logs notes after the fact, Cognassist proposes the matched reasonable adjustment with its Intent, coaches record quality in real time as it is written, and keeps the golden thread back to the assessed need. The exact data flows for your particular systems are confirmed on a technical call.
  • Does Cognassist replace our ALS or specialist team?
No, it amplifies them. The platform carries the admin, so your specialists spend their time on the most complex needs while confident non-specialists support the rest. How you allocate support across your team is your decision.
  • Can non-specialist tutors really deliver good support consistently?
Yes. A matched reasonable adjustment is proposed with its Intent, carried into the support plan and the monthly record, and the Coverage Checker coaches record quality in real time. So the same good support is delivered the same way across every tutor and department.
  • Does the cognitive assessment diagnose a learner?
No. The cognitive assessment is a signal for professional judgement toward the right level of support, not a diagnosis and not a label, and it does not establish disability under the Equality Act 2010. The tutor brings the judgement; the platform brings the signal.
  • Won't identifying more needs just create cost we can't fund?
Identified need doesn't translate one-for-one into specialist headcount, because the platform makes support deliverable efficiently: it does the heavy lifting, so non-specialists handle the predictable needs. And stepping a learner off support, with the evidence to show it, is a positive, demonstrable outcome.
  • Does this work for colleges and training providers?
Yes. Cognassist works the same way for further education colleges and independent skills and training providers: inclusion built into everyday learning, at scale.
