How Cognassist helps providers deliver and review support

A short overview of the do and review stage: how agreed support is delivered in everyday teaching, evidenced as it happens, then reviewed and adjusted over time.

Deliver the agreed plan in the flow of teaching, and evidence it as it happens

In the do stage the agreed reasonable adjustments are delivered as the normal way of learning, by the tutor who already knows the learner, not routed to a separate specialist queue. Each one carries its intent from the assessment, so support stays personalised and traceable.

  • Delivered in everyday teaching: agreed adjustments are the normal way of learning, so your additional learning support (ALS) team is amplified, not replaced.
  • Evidenced as you write: the Coverage Checker coaches each support record to the Intent, Implementation and Impact standard (the Three I's) in real time, so audit-grade evidence is a by-product of everyday work, not reconstructed before an audit.
  • Traceable end to end: the golden thread traces every record back to the assessed need.

Support every learner on demand, then review and adjust over time

Every assessed learner gets on-demand, cognition-aware support all course long with Kai, whether or not a need was ever identified. Kai gives learning strategies built around how a learner thinks, so inclusion reaches the whole cohort, not only the few who disclose.

  • On demand, all course long: Kai is always available to every assessed learner, and stays with them even after they step off formal support.
  • Reviewed on a regular rhythm: support is recorded each month, and the whole plan is re-walked with the learner at least every three months to decide together: continue it, adjust it, or step off.
  • Stepping a learner off support, with the evidence to show why, is a success, not a loss.

Where the do and review stage sits in the graduated approach

What the assessment surfaced and the plan agreed is now delivered, evidenced and reviewed, and every record traces back to an assessed need. Do and review is the third and fourth link of the golden thread, spanning two stages of the assess, plan, do and review (APDR) cycle.

Do

Tutors deliver the agreed adjustments in the flow of teaching and record support as they go, with the Coverage Checker coaching each record to the standard in real time.

Customer story · Aspiration Training

Delivering personalised support at scale, and evidencing it

Aspiration Training rebuilt its inclusion process so personalised support reaches every apprentice from enrolment, and saw a 20% uplift in learners receiving personalised support in two months, driven by clearer identification and coaches confidently evidencing the support they already give.

“It feels like a perfect storm of timing. We've got a tool that supports inclusion from enrolment onwards, and the conversations we're having with coaches and learners about personalisation are happening every week now, not just when someone declares a need.”
Zoe Fox, Head of Functional Skills and Learning Support, Aspiration Training
